BACKPACKING WEDDING OF THE CENTURY: ✨ Kate + Bryan & their 6 best friends backpacked 22 miles along the coast of Hawaii (20 lbs of tea lights and all, s/o to @thisismygarrett) to get hitched. Can you believe they had just finished climbing 3,000 feet of elevation gain, showered in a waterfall, changed in their backpacking tents, and then got married in the same day?! Cheers to the Rankies! You two do hospitality, adventure, Irish goodbyes, and aqua dumps better than anyone I know.

Aya Sofia + Istanbul latte, meet quarantine || growing up, my dad the architect was always sketching building faces on napkins, paper scraps, gum wrappers, blueprint edges, and really anything handy. He used to travel around the world & sit in front of the most magnificent structures, sketching them for hours. Seeing his favorite one last year (and the only one he has yet to make it to) I picked up my graphite pencils and picked up right where he left off. Yesterday, when he pulled out his old fashioned slides & projector & went through old images with starry eyes & marvelous tales, I decided it was finally time to give him my blown print version of the Aya Sofia today.

Bye 23 👋🏻 you’ve seen me through a whole dang Master’s degree in law, love & heartbreak, the patience & often painful slowness of NGO work, reckoning with what family means when yours is nowhere near, and now you’ve seen me into the year twenty-freaking-four with a big girl job and a canoe-full of excitement, imposter syndrome & setting my freaking toaster on fire. Yes, sometimes my life in Jerusalem is magical, but mostly it’s just me setting kitchen appliances on fire & praying that my leftover tuna didn’t go bad in my fridge and also just being forever in awe of my bad ass friends whose very lives are the definition of creative & subversive resistance. I am so appreciative of all the humans that enter my life taking pieces and in return gifting me with new ones... from the ones that are temporary tourists in my life to those that are an intricate & inseparable part. You rock my [boat].
